I am thoroughly enjoying this series and look forward to each installment. A novel that I haven’t heard you mention in this context is Twain’s Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court. The second half especially, when the Yankee succeeds at bringing capitalism, democracy, and modern technology to the Middle Ages, seems to have much in common with Utopia, Limited; Canticle for Leibowitz; and many others.
