Long Island has many homes of the very wealthy. Summer has past and the properties of these billionaires were left unkept. It was an example of what these people thought of those living there year round.
We crossed Long Island sound by ferry to New London, CN and then to Groton. This is where the US Submarine Museum is located. We visited the museum and I learned that submarines are still being produced and are in the fourth generation of production. However, for the past 8 years our country has lagged behind other countries in production of submarines making us vulnerable and incapable of being able to defend ourselves. It was a troublesome thing to hear.
