I suppose it is just an odd coincidence, but Vladimir Putin recently expressed disappointment with Tucker Carlson’s interview, saying he felt Carlson should have asked more probing questions. This confirms my impression of Putin as a shrewd man. Why would a Grand Master enjoy beating a novice chess player? He was prepared to show off his depth of knowledge and quick response to serious challenges, and all he got was a Fool’s Mate .
